Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rates determined by the applicants experience and certification ($25 – $40 / Hour)

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Willing to travel between locations listed above
  • Reliable vehicle and a valid WA state drivers license
  • Pass a background check
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize and multitask
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take/apply feedback in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • RBT® Certification
  • CBT License
  • Knowledge in Pivotal Response Training® (PRT®) and Naturalistic Environmental Training (NET)
  • 6 months (or more) of field experience in ABA
  • 6 months (or more) of working with individuals on who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or other related disabilities

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • RBT® Certification: Complete the 40-Hour Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) Training Course and pass the RBT® exam within 90 days of the start date. If applicant already has their RBT® Certification, they must re-certify annually, per BACB® requirements, and remain in good standing with the BACB®.
  • CBT License: Attain a CBT state license to practice ABA in the state of Washington. If applicant already has their CBT, they must maintain it and remain in good standing with the Washington State Department of Health® (DOH®).
  • Implementing Behavior Plans: Work directly with clients and follow the behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA® and/or BCaBA®.
  • Behavior Support: Consistently provide one-on-one support and implement specific behavior strategies to address challenging behaviors and teach new skills. This includes providing behavioral support and assistance to clients in various settings as determined by the treatment plan.
  • Data Collection: Collect data on the client’s behavior(s) during each session. This includes documenting the frequency, duration, and other relevant aspects of targeted behaviors, as well as record the client’s progress on skill acquisition goals.
  • Skill Teaching: Teach clients new skills such as (but not limited to): functional communication, social interaction skills, emotional regulation strategies, daily living/independence skills, and executive functioning skills.
  • Reinforcement Implementation: Implement reinforcement strategies outlined in the behavior intervention plan to promote positive behaviors and encourage skill development.
  • Data Analysis: Assist in the analysis of data collected, helping the supervising BCBA® and/or BCaBA® evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborating with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure consistency and coordination in implementing behavior intervention plans.
  • Progress Reporting: May be responsible for providing progress updates on client behavior and skill acquisition to the supervising BCBA® and/or BCaBA® and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: Adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®) and maintain professionalism in all interactions and activities.
  • Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the best practices in behavior analysis and intervention.
  • Assisting with Assessments: May support the BCBA® and/or BCaBA® in conducting assessments and data collection during the assessment process.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with behavioral challenges and disabilities, promoting acceptance and inclusion.
  • Mandated Reporting: Report suspected cases of child abuse, neglect, and/or other forms of maltreatment to the supervisor, employer, and other appropriate authorities. This responsibility is not only a legal obligation, but also critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, such as children and those with disabilities.
